It was sound and fury but apparently not much in the way of damage.

Sunday afternoon’s thunderstorms brought hail the size of golf balls and ping pong balls, according to widespread reports from around Effingham County, but no serious damage resulted from the storms.

Walter Wright, director of the Effingham County Emergency Management Agency, said he received no reports of damage from the storm but he also saw hail from three-quarters to an inch in diameter.
