Saturday, the annual Effingham County Young Farmers Tour explored plots on the northern side of the county. It even stretched just past the county line into Screven County for a hay and Angus cattle farm owned by Harry Sheppard, an Effingham Young Farmers supporter.

Along with a number of demonstration corn, soy and cotton plots monitored by the Extension Service’s Bill Tyson and other local farmers, those on the tour enjoyed learning about the Blackburn Brothers Blueberry farm and Exley Lumber Company’s saw mill.
