Effingham Community Orchestra Director Andrea Huff, has announced that the Orchestra will present its “Our Favorites Concert” on Sunday at 3 p.m. Venue for the concert is the Clyo Community Center, 545 Fair St. in Clyo and admission is free.

“We have performed free concerts for our community in Springfield, Rincon and Guyton, and now we are going to perform in Clyo. This will be the first time we’ve performed in Clyo. We are very excited about it,” Huff said.

“The orchestra has been preparing for this concert since May by learning new music and reviewing existing repertoire,” Huff continued. “Recently the musicians voted for the pieces they would like to perform. There will be movie and Broadway themes, Beethoven, Mozart, Beatles, Disney, jazz and more. There will be something old, something new, something for everyone.  I sincerely believe this ‘Our Favorites Concert’ will delight and amaze our audience.”

Effingham Community Orchestra is a non-profit organization which was started four years ago and has grown to 40 playing musicians who perform free community concerts and at community events throughout the county. The orchestra is funded solely by contributions from the participants and donations from community supporters.

Adult and high school level musicians wishing to participate with the orchestra can obtain additional information by visiting the website at www.effinghamcommunityorchestra.org, or contacting Huff at effinghamcommunityorchestra@windstream.net or 826-5300 ext. 25.
