Effingham’s beauty is on full display thanks to the “Capturing Effingham” photo contest, hosted by Effingham Artists and sponsored by the Effingham Herald and the Effingham County Commissioners. The community event drew more than 150 entries, with a panel of local judges selecting 20 finalists. Seven winners were named across eight categories, with photographer Mark Lastinger earning top honors in two divisions.

From sweeping landscapes to everyday moments, the stunning images highlight the county’s character and charm. The works are now on display at Effingham Artists Studio, 123 S. Laurel St., Springfield. Selected photos will also be featured digitally on the Effingham County websiteand showcased in municipal buildings across the county.
