Racing for a cure, and a cause
finish line 3

As racer after racer put the pedal to the metal Saturday at Pineora Kartway, even those who didn’t win smiled.

The racetrack was packed throughout the day for the Robbie Moore medical fund. Moore is a 15-year-old sophomore at Effingham County High School. Moore was diagnosed with a brain tumor in January and has been undergoing treatment at Duke University Hospital in Durham, N.C. Duke has been ranked as the No. 1 cancer treatment hospital in the South. The Duke Cancer Institute includes the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center.

Moore is scheduled to be there for the next five weeks — but he was able to make a stop at the fundraiser in his honor Saturday afternoon, despite his own admission of being tired.
