Springfield Garden Club selects 2016 outdoor Christmas decoration winners

The Springfield Garden Club announced the winners of the 2016 Springfield Outdoor Christmas Decorations Contest after another successful year that saw dozens of applicants participate.

For the “Overall Traditional” category, Dennis Webb placed first, Bobby Jackson placed second and Tommy Exley placed third.

For the “Overall Creative” category, Rebecca Wasson placed first, Armstong placed second and Gerald placed third.

For the “Overall Fantasy” category, Theresa Sheppard placed first and Linda Heidt placed second.

For the “Overall Christmas Theme” category, Dale Hinley placed first, 170 Hawk Hammock placed second and Betty Hodges placed third.

For the “Children’s Delight” category, Tonya Jacques placed first, 114 Rose Drive placed second and 129 Rose Drive placed third.

For the “Children’s Theme” category, Dale Boyles placed first, Roy Lee placed second and Cynthia Lee placed third.

For the “Religious” category, Senior Center placed first and Effingham Hospital placed second.

For the “Doors” category, Lona Webb placed first, Steve Snooks placed second, Cynthia Brogdon placed third and Stencell placed fourth.

For the “Windows” category, Darrell Banks placed first, Keith Johnson placed second and Tim Cowey placed third.

For the “Outdoor Tree” category, City of Springfield placed first and Carson Shearouse placed second.

For the “Businesses” category, Antique Unique placed first, Fairy Godmother’s Closet placed second, Aunt Tinkies’ placed third and Mars Theatre placed fourth.

For the “Public Buildings” category, Effingham Judicial placed first and HES Museum placed second.

For the “Churches” category, Holy Trinity Lutheran placed first and United Methodist placed second.

For the “Florists” category, Joann’s placed first.

For the “Christmas Spectacular” category, James Sapp placed first.
