30 and Midland Road re-opened

All lanes of Highway 30 are now open after an accident at the intersection of Highway 30 and Midland Road forced it to be closed earlier this evening.

Preliminary reports indicate that the driver of a Kia Soul turned into the path of a Ford Explorer as the driver of the Kia was turning onto Highway 30 from Midland. A child in the Explorer has been taken to a Savannah hospital with what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the Kia was charged with failure to yield.
