SPRINGFIELD -- The show must go on, and so does the parade.

Despite intermittent showers throughout and a monsoon at the end, the parade for the 74th Effingham County Fair went off without a hitch Monday. Dozens of entries from area schools, clubs, business and other organizations participated. Many of them tossed candy to young spectators along the parade route.

Walton and Sandra White served as grand marshals.
