Join the community on Nov. 11 at 2:30 p.m. for the annual Effingham County American Cancer Society memorial service at the Effingham County Board of Education Auditorium, 405 North Ash St., Springfield. The public is invited to attend.

Ten plaques will be dedicated for display on the Memorial Board in Effingham Hospital. Plaques come from donations of $50 or more as memorial or honor gifts. Some on the wall never had cancer but donations were given in remembrance.  

The following will be remembered at the service:  Jake Atkins, Muller Berry, Floyd S. Cason, Lilla D. Colson, Jewel E. Graham, Ronald S. “Ronnie” Hathaway, William “Mack” Horton, M. Catherine Morgan, Dorothy J. Murray and Lloyd Smith.
