A building that has been on Laurel Street in Springfield since 1873 was torn down on Monday. Bill Millsap bought the building 1963. He ran a barbershop in the building from 1963-2005 and lived in the upper floor of the structure with his family prior to moving to his current residence. He said he was having the building torn down because it was too costly to bring it up to code.

Friends of Manna House is fundraising in August to renovate the busy food pantry parking lot. The community is invited to shop donated décor and support the project.
