RINCON — A Rincon Fire Department member suffered a personal loss Friday night when he had to respond to a fire at his house.

The call came in just before midnight. The Oak Street residence was discovered fully engulfed and is a total loss.

The family of four escaped unharmed, along with three dogs. Three cats didn’t make it out.

The Red Cross is in the process of helping the family. At the moment, the family needs toiletries, clothes and foster care for the dogs.

Clothing needs for a 17-year-old girl include size 9 shoes, large shirts/coat and 10/12 size pants. Men’s needs include size 10 shoes, XL shirts/jacket and 38/30 pants.

Donations can be dropped off at the Rincon Fire Department 109 West 17th St.
