The Bloomingdale Junior Firefighters will present a fallen firefighters memorial program Sunday at 7 p.m. at Taylor Park on Pine Barren Road in Bloomingdale.

This will be a memorial program that will include a Flag Retirement to honor the 103 firefighters who died in the line of duty in 2008. Two members from Georgia will be among the 98 men and five women from 36 states remembered.

This ceremony will be part of the 28th Annual Nation Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend.

If you have an old American flag that you wish to retire, you may bring it and it will be retired with honors for you.

The event is free and open to the public.

The Bloomingdale Jr. Firefighter program is a program of young men and women from the Bloomingdale Fire Rescue Explorer Post 124 and the Effingham Fire Rescue Venture Crew 691.
