Effingham Health System welcomes Dr. William J. Kolhoff as a hospitalist and primary care physician. He will be joining Dr. John Bennett and Dr. Claude Sanks in caring for Effingham Hospital’s inpatients as a hospitalist and he will be the primary care physician at Effingham Family Medicine in Rincon.

Dr. Kolhoff received his bachelor of science from the University of South Florida in Tampa in 1999. He received his medical degree from the University of Miami, School of Medicine in 2006. Following an internal medicine residency at New York Medical College in 2009, Dr. Kolhoff has practiced as an internal medicine provider and as a hospitalist at St. Joseph’s/Candler in Savannah for more than four years.

During this time, Dr. Kolhoff became aware of the benefits of a hospitalist program, being a specialized physician who focuses on the care of hospitalized patients, working as a team with the patient’s primary care physician. As a board-certified internal medicine doctor, Kolhoff brings his years of experience as a hospitalist to Effingham, providing increased convenience, safety, and care coordination for patients and their doctors.
