Jorge Guerra, director of business and operations for EFACEC-USA, will be the keynote speaker for the next Effingham County Chamber of Commerce membership breakfast slated for March 11 at 7:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church-Rincon’s Memorial Chapel.
Guerra, who is responsible for the firm’s business development, sales and operations in the U.S., will offer an overview of EFACEC’s mission worldwide and its expansion into the U.S., North American and South American markets. The new EFACEC plant now under construction at Effingham Industrial Park is expected to be operational later this year.
The new facility will manufacture shell-type, core-type and mobile power transformers. When fully operational, the company will employ more than 600 people and represents an investment of $120 million.
“We are extremely excited about EFACEC and its positive impact on Effingham County,” Michael Lee, Chamber President said. “We especially appreciate Mr. Guerra for his willingness to present this program and inform our business community about their plans here.”
Guerra holds a BS in electrical engineering and has been with EFACEC for 12 years. He serves as one of five USA Greenfield team members for its power transformer operations. Guerra was also involved in the firm’s U.S. site selection, negotiations with the state and selection of the plant’s contractor.
Reservations to this breakfast are $12 for Effingham Chamber members and $20 for non-members. RSVP by March 9. Call the Chamber at 754-3301.
