The Heritage Bank and Peoples Bank officials recently announced that the scheduled merger of these two banks has been completed. As of Aug. 17, Peoples Bank of Blackshear, Waycross and Homerville has officially changed its name to The Heritage Bank and all locations are operating as Heritage branches.

Floyd Jr, president and CEO of The Heritage Bank. “Our team members at both banks have pulled together with enthusiasm and dedicated cooperation to make this successful merger happen. Peoples Bank clients have given us a great reception and we appreciate their confidence in us.”

With the merger completed, Heritage has total assets of approximately $600 million.

The Heritage Bank’s main office is in Hinesville and operates 28 branch offices and 35 ATMs throughout South Georgia. Offices are located in Blackshear, Brunswick, Darien, Fort Stewart, Hinesville, Homerville, Jesup, Kingsland, Ludowici, Midway, Pembroke, Richmond Hill, Rincon, Savannah, Statesboro, St. Marys and Waycross.
