Job fair for veterans, others to be held Thursday

About 20 employers will be recruiting a number of workers at a career fair for veterans and other job seekers Thursday in Savannah.  

The event, called Summer Splash, will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Georgia Department of Labor’s (GDOL) Savannah Career Center located at 5520 White Bluff Rd.   

While the career fair will focus on the employment needs of veterans and their families, it is open to all job seekers.   

Veterans must bring a copy of their U.S. Department of Defense (DD) form 214. All applicants are encouraged to bring a resume and dress appropriately to improve their opportunities for jobs.

Employers and other organizations already registered are Chatham County Public School System, City of Savannah, Comcast, Department of Juvenile Justice, Embassy Suites, Georgia Regional Hospital, Health Resource and Training Services, J.L. Wallace, Kelly Services, Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corp., Lowe’s, Metro Industrial, Office Team, Right Step Staffing, U.S. Army and UPS.
