Members of the Effingham Chamber of Commerce help Robert and Kathlene Connor, owners of The Station, cut the ribbon on their new restaurant.

Robert Connor said he is looking for historic photos of Effingham County and memorabilia from the two high schools’ sports teams to put on the walls, and he also has plans to expand to 60 seats.

Effingham County commissioners honored local youth athletes Tuesday, recognizing the GRPA state champion softball team and state track meet finalists with a proclamation declaring Aug. 9 as “Effingham Champions Day.”
