Candidate forums slated at South Effingham High School
election qualifying

GUYTON — Get to know the candidates for the Effingham County Board of Commissioners and Georgia House Representatives District 161 at a series of in-person forums in the South Effingham High School auditorium, 1220 Noel C. Conaway Road, on Oct. 13

The forums are presented by the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce and the Effingham Herald. Admission is free.

All the candidates have been invited to participate. The forums will be streamed live on the chamber of commerce's Facebook page (www.facebook.com/EffinghamChamber). They will also be uploaded to the chamber's YouTube page (Effingham Chamber)

The forums will be moderated by Mark Lastinger, editor of the Effingham Herald.

The forums will be held on the following schedule:

— 6:30 p.m.: Commission District 2 Forum (Roger Burdette and Barry Thompson)

— 7:20 p.m.: Commission District 3 Forum (Jamie DeLoach and Richard D.M. Garvin)

— 8:10 p.m.: Commission District 5 Forum (Phil Kieffer and Delmons White)

— 8:55 p.m.: House District 161 Forum (Bill Hitchens and Margo Barbee)
