According to organizers, Saturday's first Mustang Syndicate Car Show hit on all cylinders.
"With the event being the first one ever for our club, it was a great success," said Melissa James, a Mustang Syndicate member. "We raised a little over $800 for our VFW guys and that was the main purpose for having our show."
James and the Mustang Syndicate arrived locally a a couple of months ago. She lives in Guyton.
"We are based in Sulphur Springs, Texas, but we have 21 chapters in 15 states," James said. "We are branching out to other countries, too. Our main goal is to use our cars to raise funds for people who need it.
"I couldn't think of anyone better to help than our military personnel."
The local VFW appreciates the support.
"We are proud to have those folks with us and we are looking forward to another year of fun and frivolity," said Jim Reynolds, a VFW member and show co-organizer.
