More than 250 residents, family members and staff at Effingham Care Center celebrated Thanksgiving with the annual covered dish supper on Nov. 8. Wes Rogers provided music and Ingrid Hill performed a solo.

South Effingham High School’s marching band launched its annual band camp on July 7, bringing together more than 120 student performers to prepare for the fall season and a new theme show titled “Parkour.” Under the leadership of veteran Band Director Sean McBride, students train in music, movement and teamwork during intensive nine-hour days that emphasize precision, endurance and camaraderie.
