Chamber honors Zemurray

SPRINGFIELD — The Effingham County Chamber of Commerce recently presented Samuel Zemurrary the John Adam Treutlen Award for his contributions to Effingham County.
A lunch was held in Zemurray’s honor at the New Ebenezer Retreat Center. Many of his friends and associates were in attendance.
Gussie Neese and Warren Ratchford presented the award, citing Zemurray’s past and present contributions to the betterment of Effingham County. Proclamations from Gov. Nathan Deal and the Georgia General Assembly were also presented to Zemurray.

Friends of Manna House is fundraising in August to renovate the busy food pantry parking lot. The community is invited to shop donated décor and support the project.
