The Effingham Chamber of Commerce has announced plans for a Chamber membership breakfast on Sept. 9 at 7:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Rincon. Georgia Department of Transportation Commissioner Vance Smith will be the featured speaker.

“As our community continues to experience growth, proper planning for our transportation needs will continue to be extremely important,” said Effingham Chamber President Randy Shearouse. “This includes plans for existing road improvements as well as any new transportation needs.
Effingham County has a large population with many of our residents driving out of the county to work. Transportation routes should be safe and efficient in order to reduce the time it takes to commute. The Effingham Chamber is hosting a breakfast where the transportation commissioner will be speaking and afterwards be meeting with county officials. A large number in attendance at the breakfast will show that our county is unified and committed to improving transportation.”

The public is invited but RSVPs are requested. For more information or to RSVP, call the Chamber at 754-3301 or register online at www.EffinghamCounty.com.
