SPRINGFIELD – The vegetative debris cleanup stemming from September’s Hurricane Heléne is continuing.

As of Nov. 12, more than 32,100 cubic yards of debris had been collected in unincorporated Effingham County. That equates to nearly 2,700 standard dump truck loads.

Another 9,070 cubic yards of debris have been picked up in the City of Rincon -- 756 additional standard dump truck loads.

The cleanup is expected to continue into early December.
