The Effingham County Branch NAACP assembled a Gala Committee to work on plans for its gala, which has become an annual event. This traditional gala was interrupted in 2020as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Executive Committee made a decision to move forward with the gala in 2021, voting to establish a Gala Committee, which subsequently announced its plans.

The gala will take place Sept. 11, 2021 at The Local on Laurel, 606 N. Laurel St., Springfield

Formal attire is required. The admission ticket price is $50 per person.

As a result of  the tables at The Local on Laurel having seating of eight people each, a table to the gala will cost $400.

The event will be catered by Cafe 17, Guyton.

The president of the Effingham County Branch NAACP is the Rev. Delmons White.

  The Gala Committee proudly announced that Dr. Fran Witt, the president and CEO of Effingham Health System, will be the guest speaker.
