The Effingham County commissioners have chosen their lone finalist for the position of county administrator.

Interim county administrator David Crawley is the finalist. Crawley had been the zoning administrator before being named interim county administrator after previous county administrator Ed Williams resigned in December.

Williams’ last day on the job was Jan. 18.

Williams was one of 26 candidates for the job that opened in 2006, and one of five who were interviewed. He was hired in May 2006 on a six-month probationary period, which was then extended by five months. His probationary status was removed in March 2007.
