A jury took only two hours to deliberate on the fate of Lester Casey Griffin, who was accused of killing Dylan Helmey by striking the child in the chest. Griffin, charged with malice murder, was found guilty Thursday of the reduced charge of involuntary manslaughter.
He also was found guilty of seven other charges, including felony murder/cruelty to a child, felony murder/aggravated battery, felony murder/aggravated assault, cruelty to children, aggravated battery and aggravated assault.
