Mack death ruled a homicide

A 2005 missing persons case in Effingham County has now been ruled a homicide following an autopsy.

On March 8, Effingham County Sheriff’s deputies’ located skeletal remains, thatwere later identified Robert Mack, in a wooded area off Ardmore Oaky Road in northern Effingham County.

In September 2005, Mack’s family reported him missing. Effingham County Sheriff’s investigators have worked on this case and followed several leads over the past five years,  Sheriff Jimmy McDuffie said.

This is still an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division.
