Arrests/Citations

Yahayra Mirella Segura Arias, McCall Road S/Hwy. 21, Rincon – No tag light, driving while unlicensed.

Michael Anthony Minett, Hwy. 21/Goshen Road, Rincon – DUI.

Carlos Miguel Jimenez Carrasco, Noel C. Conaway Road/SR 17, Guyton – driving while unlicensed, failure to obey stop sign, failure to maintain lane.

 

Incidents

Old Augusta Road, Rincon – a Georgia Power employee reported that another worker had accidentally cut and pulled some GP wires while digging a trench to lay more wires.

Frederick Street, Rincon – a woman reported she and her husband had a verbal argument over money. The husband left the scene to separate from the issue.

Go Cart Road, Guyton – a woman reported that her daughter came on to her property and burned some trash. Effingham County Fire Rescue responded to extinguish the fire; and the woman wanted a criminal trespass complaint filed against her daughter.

Bellflower Circle, Guyton – a man reported that his daughter had damaged the backyard fence and an animal run when she lost control of the golf cart. The man agreed to pay to repair the damages to his neighbor’s property.

Barrister Crossing, Guyton – a man and a woman were cited for criminal trespass on a construction site.

Hwy. 119N, Clyo – deputy responded to a welfare check on a verbal domestic dispute. The woman assured the deputy the dispute was verbal and not physical.

Central Avenue, Guyton – a woman reported that Pineora Transmission has had her vehicle since June 2024. The business says they will not release the vehicle until they receive payment; and that it has lost the key to the woman’s vehicle. The woman was advised to pursue the matter in court to regain possession of her property.

Effingham County Hospital – a man reported he was bitten by his brother’s dog (a lab mix) when he tried to break up a fight between that dog and his own. The dog that bit the man was not current on its rabies vaccinations. The man received treatment and antibiotics; and the dog’s owner was advised of the 10-day quarantine for the dog and that the dog must be vaccinated when the quarantine is complete.

ECSO lobby – a woman reported that an unknown person(s) opened a Verizon account in her name without her knowledge. She is working with Verizon to resolve the issue and needed a police report to document the fraudulent activity.

Cameron Oak Drive, Guyton – a man reported that a landscape company wanted to charge him $1,000 for pine straw, but he wanted to pay only $300.

ECSO Office – a man wanted to document a physical altercation he had with his wife at their residence as he was trying to leave the property. The couple is in the process of a divorce.

Hodgeville Road – deputies responded to a dump truck stuck in a power line. ECFR responded and was able to get the driver out of the truck and the truck off the power line. Georgia Power also responded to the scene.
