Democrat chairman announces qualifying instructions

Tony Chiariello, chairperson of the Effingham County Democratic Committee, has announced that prospective Democrat candidates for the May 22 partisan elections in Effingham County must deliver their qualifying fee to the designated office at 107 South St. in Springfield.

Candidates must report there no earlier than 9 a.m. March 5 and no later than noon March 9.

The prospective candidate must appear at the designated times and place with her or his fee, as follows:

-- Solicitor general  $2897.78

--  Effingham County Board of Commissioners  $454.05 (2nd, 3rd, & 5th Districts have elections in 2018.)
