ECHS, SEHS cast members recognized
Drama
The Effingham County High School and South Effingham High School’s drama club/theatre teams competed at the Region/Area One Act Plays at Brunswick High School on Friday  

ECHS performed “Tracks,” and SEHS performed “Still Life with Iris.” 

Although neither school advanced to state meet, judges recognized two standouts from each school. Mayra Gay and Ryan Smith from ECHS, and Peyton McCutchen and Christopher Welch from SEHS were awarded “All-Star Cast” medals for their performances. 

Gay has earned the honor two years in a row.

The Effingham County High School marching band has been invited to perform in New York City’s historic 2026 St. Patrick’s Day Parade. This prestigious opportunity marks the band’s largest performance to date, showcasing their talents on a national stage.
