The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded a public safety partnership grant totaling $10,000 from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.

The incentive grant, which will last through September, is designed for smaller law enforcement agencies that have partnered with GOHS and excelled in participating in highway safety initiatives as well as making their communities safe during the previous year.

"We are thrilled to have received this grant which will benefit the Effingham County Sheriff’s Office," Sheriff Jimmy McDuffie Said. "Some of the items we will purchase are laptop computers for the patrol cars as well as scene lights for special operations."
