Sept. 1


Speeding in Excess of Maximum Limits (State Speed and Zone Laws); Reckless Driving; Obstruction of Law Enforcement (Misdemeanor); Fleeing or Attempting to Elude; DUI- Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol


A man was seen driving down the road at a very high rate of speed. After he saw police, he abruptly turned into a driveway and attempted to hide the vehicle. He then exited the vehicle and proceeded to run toward the rear of the residence. After a brief struggle inside of the house, he was placed under arrest. It was noted that he smelled strongly of alcoholic beverages. His vehicle was turned over to his girlfriend. The reporting officer was James Thompson.

Sept. 2


Speeding in Excess of Maximum Limits (State Speed and Zone Laws); Reckless Driving; Possession of Marijuana Less than One Ounce


A man was spotted driving down the road at an extremely high rate of speed on a motorcycle. He was also driving quite erratically by fluctuating his speed in quick succession. He stated that the reason why he was going so fast is because he thought that someone was following him. A short time later, a sock full of marijuana was found in the motorcycle, and the man was swiftly arrested. His girlfriend arrived on scene to pick up the bike. The reporting officer was James Thompson.


Sept. 4


Simple Battery- Family Violence


A woman advised that she and her husband were arguing about the husband’s controlling nature. During the fight, the husband pinned the woman on the ground and hit her on the head. The husband claimed, however, that this was in self defense because she was trying to take his cell phone. He was arrested a short time later. The reporting officer was Malcom Foy.


Sept. 6


Simple Battery; Terroristic Threats and/or Acts


A woman advised that she and her husband got into an altercation with one of their employees when they went to terminate her. During the argument, the employee pushed the woman in the face area and made threats toward the husband. Another employee confirmed this series of events. The employee could not be located at the time. The reporting officer was John Etzle.


Sept. 7


Hit and Run Resulting in Serious Injury or Death


A man who had been hit by a car was seen lying in the middle of the road. It was noted that he had severe road rash on his back. Because the man was both deaf and mute, he was unable to provide any details on the incident. The person who had hit him could not be located. The reporting officer was Kathy Dillard.


Damage to Property


A man stated that a forklift driver damaged the rear bumper of a vehicle that he was supposed to ship. The forklift driver, however, denied damaging the vehicle, and there was no video evidence to support the man’s story. The reporting officer was Matthew Davis.


Wanted Person- Warrant Service


Two wanted people were spotted hanging out at their residence. Upon conformation of the warrants and their validity, both subjects were placed under arrest. The reporting officer was Matthew Davis.


Criminal Trespass


A woman stated that her ex-boyfriend kept showing up to her house uninvited even though she had asked him to stop. The ex-boyfriend was soon located, and he was advised to not return to the residence. The reporting officer was James Daniel McKie.


Tag Light Required; Illegal Possession of Controlled Substance; Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects; Possession of Firearms by Convicted Felons; Possession of Firearm or Knife During Commission of Crime; Possession of a Schedule I or II Controlled Substance


A man was seen driving down the road without proper tag lights. It was noted that his vehicle smelled strongly of marijuana. The man was detained, and his vehicle was searched. The search yielded a gun, bags of marijuana, bags of white pills, large stacks of money, cocaine and a small scale. The man was swiftly arrested a short time later. The reporting officer was Jonathan Simpson.


Sept. 8


Reckless Driving; Failure to Obey Stop Sign


A man was spotted driving onto the grass and running into a ditch while traveling down the road. He stated that he had sold a television to an acquaintance and that the acquaintance had tried to harm him when he went to deliver it. The man was placed under arrest a short time later, and his vehicle was towed by a local wrecker service. The reporting officer was Kristopher Withem.


Wanted Person-Warrant Service; Driving While License Withdrawn


A man wanted for a probation violation was seen traveling down the roadway. He admitted to knowing about the warrant and that his license was not valid, and he was arrested. His mother arrived on scene to collect his vehicle. The reporting officer was Malcom Foy.


Public Drunkenness; Disturbing the Peace- County Ordnance


A man advised that a woman had come into the gas station that he worked at and was acting awkward. This unusual behavior included singing to bananas and grinding on other customers. The woman admitted to these actions as well as being intoxicated. She also made sexual remarks toward the officer who ultimately arrested her. The reporting officer was Bobby McCloud.


Littering Under State Statute; Criminal Damage to Property-Second Degree


A man stated that someone had set fire to household trash in the sand pit that he owned. He was unsure as to who had committed the act of illegal dumping. The reporting officer was James Daniel McKie.


DUI-Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol; Open Alcohol Container; Failure to Obey Stop Sign


A man was spotted failing to obey a stop sign while driving down the road. It was noted that his vehicle smelled strongly of alcoholic beverages, and he immediately admitted to being under the influence. He also admitted to having an open beer can with him in the vehicle. He was swiftly arrested, and his vehicle was towed by a local wrecker service. The reporting officer was Malcom Foy.


Sept. 9


Criminal Trespass


A man stated that he got into a physical altercation with his mother’s boyfriend which resulted in marks on the man’s chin and knuckles and gave him a limp. The boyfriend added that the man was being disrespectful and that the man started the fight by flipping a glass table and shattering it. The man admitted to this and was swiftly arrested. The reporting officer was Malcom Foy.
