The flag bearers for Saturday's Effingham Heroes Parade in Rincon have been named.

They are Effingham County Sheriff's Office Deputy Caleb Grovenstein, Effingham County E-911 Dispiatcher Kimberly Odom, Effingham County Prison Lt. Kenny Allen, Springfield Police Department Det. Amelia Smith, Effingham County Sheriff's Office Capt. Pete Hossalla and Effingham County EMS EMT-I Chris Boyd, Chosen by the heads of their agencies, they will lead the parade while carrying an American flag that measures 10 feet by 15 feet.

The parade, featuring local first responders and a vareity of other entries, will start at 10 a.m. at Compassion Christian Church on Fort Howard Road and end 1.7 miles later at Freedom Park. It will cross Ga. Hwy 21 before turning left on Brentwood Drive and passing in front of Kroger Marketplace and Lowe’s en route to Prosperity Drive.

The Freedom Rings Celebration at Freedom Park will start at 11 a.m. It will begin with a welcome by Gov. Brian Kemp and include food trucks, games and music.

A fireworks show is slated for approximately 9:30 p.m.
