RINCON -- The Effingham Chamber of Commerce, Effingham Health System and Chatham Orthopaedic Associates came together June 19 to celebrate healthcare partnerships and what they can mean for Effingham residents.

Dr. Barbara Prosser, past-president and board member for the Chamber, kicked off the official ribbon cutting for Effingham Orthopaedics.

Effingham Orthopaedic Practice is a partnership between Effingham Healthcare System and Chatham Orthopaedic Associates (COA). The practice is professionally staffed by COA physicians.

“The opportunity to partner with some of the most respected orthopaedic specialists in Georgia,’ explained Fran Baker-Witt, Effingham Health System CEO, ‘means that local people have that level of orthopaedic care available close to home.”

Partnerships like the one forged between Mrs. Baker-Witt and Sharon Bromley, CEO for Chatham Orthopaedic Associates, are an important element in the transformation of healthcare for our community.

Dr. J.T. Prather, medical director for the practice, summed it up by saying, “It’s rewarding to work in a community that has such an excellent healthcare system in place. A community that obviously cares about its members.”

Following the ribbon cutting, visitors were invited to tour the facility, which includes multiple treatment rooms and a spacious therapy facility. Visitors also mingled with practice staff and orthopaedic specialists, including Dr. John Prather,  Dr. Ronald Levit, Dr. Spencer Wheeler, Physician Assistant Malissa Nix  and Nurse Practitioner Megan Roberts

The new practice is located at 613 Towne Park Drive West, Suite 303-304.
