EHS nurses treated to lunch for National Nurses Week
nurseslunch2

Nurses at Effingham Health System were treated to a catered lunch Wednesday in celebration of National Nurses Week, which began on Monday and will finish tomorrow, National Nurses Day.

For the celebration, EHS nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) were given Nurses Week t-shirts to wear and were served a lunch of chicken wraps, pasta salad, homemade chips and fruit salad.

For many of the nurses, the lunch was short-lived as their busy schedules and hard work came first.

Next week, EHS will celebrate National Hospital Week. Usually, the National Nurses Week coincides with National Hospital Week but EHS personnel felt the nurses needed to be honored separately for all of their hard work and dedication to their job.

As part of National Hospital Week, the EHS staff will have a different “treat” each day in celebration. For instance, Monday is “Popcorn Day”.

The week will end with a big picnic lunch on Friday at the hospital. Food will be provided for EHS staff during extended lunch hours.
