The Effingham Empty Stocking Fund continues to receive funds for the annual effort to provide Christmas wishes for those in need of assistance. Families receiving assistance include families with children and the aged and disabled.
Reggie Loper, chairman of the effort, said that the fund is still receiving contributions and all contributions will be appreciated.
“We found this year to be a little tough in gaining contributions, due to the economics of the citizens this year,” he said. “Many families that would ordinarily contribute found that it was tough to meet their own needs. But Effingham is always known for looking out for their own and they have done so in 2007.”
It is expected that the next report will be the final one with all final contributions to be listed. Anyone wishing to contribute may take their contributions to any Citizens Bank in the county for inclusion in this year’s effort. (Amounts are in dollars).
