RINCON -- Sophia Ferrin, daughter of Gabriel and Katie Watson, earned the prestigious title of the 2018 National American Miss Georgia at the state pageant held July 8.

Sophia is 10 years old and attends Rincon Elementary School. She enjoys playing softball, practicing taekwondo and reading "Harry Potter." She is working toward donating school supplies to local families and wants to be involved in helping the Veteran in the community.

She will be attending the National Pageant to be held in Anaheim, Calif., at Disneyland during Thanksgiving week. She will have the opportunity to win a share of more than $500,000 in cash and prizes.

The National American Miss Pageant is dedicated to celebrating America’s greatness and encouraging its future leaders.
