The Effingham YMCA has waited 10 years for a facility like this and Saturday morning, the organization will have a grand opening on their new 32,000 square foot home on Patriot Drive off Highway 21. Y officials will conduct tours of the new building and visitors will have a chance to join at 50 percent off the regular sign-up fee Saturday and Sunday. Entertainment and refreshments will be provided.

The Effingham County High School marching band has been invited to perform in New York City’s historic 2026 St. Patrick’s Day Parade. This prestigious opportunity marks the band’s largest performance to date, showcasing their talents on a national stage.
