About 60 anglers took part in the Effingham County Recreation and Parks Department’s fishing rodeo at Baker Pond earlier this month.

There were about 35 fish caught. The biggest one was caught by a senior at 1.9 pounds.

A Rincon police officer has returned to duty following an internal review into his use of force during the arrest of a shoplifting suspect at Walmart. The department released redacted body camera footage, the initial incident report, and a statement Wednesday, citing transparency. Warrants have been issued for five suspects in connection with the alleged theft.
