SPRINGFIELD -- The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is conducting an investigation into an in custody death that occurred just after midnight Friday.
Johnny Davis Lee was observed in his cell having what officers believed to be a seizure.
Jail officers entered the cell and found Lee with a faint pulse. Officers saw he was in distress and immediately contacted medical personnel and EMS.
Lee was transported to the hospital where he later died. He was 41 years old.
Per policy, the GBI has been called to conduct the investigation.
