Guyton candidates to debate issues and goals Oct. 9

All seven candidates for public office in the City of Guyton have been invited to participate in a live debate, Oct. 9, at Liberty Christian Church, 302 Church St., Guyton. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the debate will begin at 7.

WSAV anchor and reporter Kaley Fedko will be the moderator.

The public is invited to submit questions for the candidates via email to the event organizers at: effinghamgrassroots@gmail.com or to Fedko at: KFedko@wsav.com.

The event is being organized by “Effingham, GA News & Views” and “STOP the Warehouses in Rincon, Guyton and Effingham County GA.”

According to Christine Pierre, Effingham GA: News & Views grassroots director of outreach and engagement, the debate will be held in three portions: the mayoral candidates, then city council candidates, and then the floor will be opened for members of the audience to ask questions directly. Pierre added the debate will be livestreamed on the Effingham, GA News & Views Facebook page.
