A Guyton woman was killed Saturday morning after the driver of the car she was in lost control.

Around 10 a.m. Roxanne Wilharm, 51, and John Eaton, 41, both of Guyton, were headed west on Interstate 16 in a 2003 Ford Explorer when Eaton lost control of the vehicle.  It landed in the median, flipping several times. Wilharm, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected.

While the Georgia State Patrol is still investigating the single-car accident, one witness observed one of the tires blowing out. Patrol officers do not know if drugs or alcohol played a part in the crash.

Eaton, who was wearing a seatbelt, was taken to Memorial Health University Medical Center. He is in critical condition. Wiharm was pronounced dead at the scene.
