Heartache lingers for Mustangs

GUYTON — Another game. Another heartbreaking loss for South Effingham.

The Mustangs fell to 0-8 Friday after losing 13-7 to New Hampstead.

South Effingham’s defense, which played stellar all night, came up short on the final play when the Phoenix’s Jeremiah Daniels caught a 32-yard touchdown pass.

Mustangs coach Donnie Revell is eager to see how his team responds to the defeat.

So far, so good.

"They came in Monday with the attitude that they are going to work hard,” he said.
