RINCON — The City of Rincon is asking businesses and residents to join a friendly competition to see who can be the most creative with pumpkin displays and scarecrow decorations.

“Rincon wants everybody to get involved, especially the businesses,” said Michelle Taylor, a Rincon City Council member. She is the head of the Beautification Committee.

The event will start Sunday and end Oct. 31. The prize is two free rounds of golf at Lost Plantation Golf Club and a gift card to a local establishment.

All businesses that participate will have their creations posted on the City of Rincon Facebook page and Beautification Facebook page.

Additional competitions, Deck the Halls and Fly Your Flags, are slated later.
