GUYTON -- South Effingham’s girls basketball team believes strong starts are the key to getting the kind of finishes it wants.Cheyenne Boswell said the Lady Mustangs have developed the mindset that games must be won early.“(A 3-0 start) feels great since last year we struggled a lot trying to win games with just seconds on the clock,” Boswell saud. “If you want to win a ball game, you have to put them out in the first half and then come out stronger after halftime. It’s bringing the team together and it’s keeping our head up instead of us giving up this early in the season.”Boswell is aiming to end her high school career on a high note.“It’s my last year so I’m looking forward to enjoying every moment with the team and winning ball games,” she said. (I want) to have a better record than last year and keep a positive attitude.”The team, loaded with veterans, hopes to make some noise in highly competitive Region 2-AAAAA, which features Statesboro, Ware County, Wayne County and New Hampstead.
