GUYTON -- A man used to working behind Guyton's political scenes has finally taken the stage.
Joseph Lee, who spent about a a decade on the city's Leisure Services Committee, was sworn in as a city council member Tuesday night at City Hall.
"My plan is, like I told everybody else, is to work for the citizens," Lee said. "My biggest plan is working for the citizens. We've got to work together to try to improve things."
Lee point to drainage problems as a primary concern.
"I'm very familiar with what is going on in Guyton," he said. "I think I've missed one council meeting in about 10 or 12 years."
Without getting specific, Lee said he opted to run for a council seat after seeing some things he didn't like.
