South Effingham Elementary School received an upgraded look on Thursday as employees of Lowe’s, known as the “Lowe’s Heroes”, came to the school to do maintainence work.

“The store manager and several employees came out to the school during the summer to see what our needs and wants were,” SEES Media Specialist Michelle Taylor said. “They then took the information gathered back to the store for the employees to “vote” on what they wanted to undertake.”

The volunteers completed the beautification project and gave the school a complete “facelift” in the front.

They removed dead and overgrown shrubbery and replaced it with new greenery.

They also did work on the inside of the school, including building storage in the media center.

All work was done on a volunteer basis.
