RINCON — Concern about Covid-19 is the winner of Georgia’s presidential primary.

Gov. Brian Kemp on Saturday declared a public health emergency that resulted in the the postponement of the March 24 election until May 19 when Georgia conducts its general election primary and non-partisan general election. The ballot will also a $100 million bond referendum for the Effingham County School District whose fate was to be determined Tuesday.

On Saturday, there were 15 Covid-19 cases in Cobb County, 11 in Fulton County, eight cases in DeKalb County, seven in Bartow County, five in Cherokee County, four in Fayette County, three in Floyd County, two in Coweta County, two in Gordon County, two in Gwinnett County and one case each for Lee, Henry, Lowndes, Polk and Charlton counties.
