Murder charges against five filed in deaths of Crocker siblings

SPRINGFIELD --  The Effingham County Sheriff’s Office investigation into the deaths of Elwyn Crocker Jr. and Mary Crocker has s resulted in felony murder charges being filed against Elwyn Crocker Sr., Candice Crocker, Kimberly Wright, Roy Prater and Mark Wright. 

All five defendants were served with murder warrants Monday.

Investigators allege the defendants committed the offense of murder when in the commission of a felony, cruelty to children in violation of OCGA 16-5-70 (a) (b), causing the death of Mary Frances Crocker.

 The circumstances regarding the death of Elwyn Crocker Jr. is also continuing. 

The official cause of death of both children is still pending the medical examiners ruling.
