Revolution Cycle and Fitness opens in Springfield


The ribbon cutting for Revolution Cycle and Fitness, 1451 Hwy. 21, Springfield, was held on Jan. 6.  Classes began at 5 a.m. on Jan. 8.

Revolution Cycle and Fitness is a joint business venture by Regina Clontz, Tawney Icaza, and Lauren Eargle.

Revolution Cycle and Fitness has indoor cycling, strength, barre, functional fitness, and stretch on the schedule.  Currently, classes are at 5, 9, and 10:15 a.m.; and 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome, and all fitness levels are met with modifications by a team of highly skilled instructors.  Memberships are for sale and classes are booked via the website at www.revolutioncycleandfitness.com.

Guyton church celebrates 154 years

 

The Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, 724 Central Blvd., Guyton, will celebrate its 154th church anniversary with nightly worship services Tuesday, Jan. 16 through Thursday, Jan. 18, beginning at 7:30 each night.

The closing celebration services will begin with Sunday School at 9 a.m. and the closing services to be held 10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 21.

Two Effingham residents make Berry University Dean’s List

ROME – Two Effingham County residents were named to the Dean’s List at Berry University for the Fall 2023 semester: Chrys Hawkins of Rincon and Andrew Hendrix of Springfield.

The Dean's List honors students who posted an academic average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale while carrying a class load of at least 12 hours during the semester.

Two Rincon residents graduate from University of North Georgia

DAHLONEGA -- For the fall 2023 semester, the University of North Georgia (UNG) awarded 989 degrees and certificates to graduates. Many of the graduates participated in the fall 2023 commencement ceremonies held Dec. 16 at the Convocation Center at UNG's Dahlonega Campus.

·       Gavin Gelderman of Rincon graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management.

·       Luis Lopez-Montes of Rincon graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity.

The University of North Georgia is a University System of Georgia leadership institution and is The Military College of Georgia. Hinesville Farmers’ and Makers’ Market accepting vendor applications

HINESVILLE – The 14th season of The Hinesville Farmers’ and Makers’ Market at Bradwell Park kicks off Thursday, March 7 at 3 p.m. in Downtown Hinesville.

The Hinesville Farmers’ Market is accepting vendor applications in the following categories: fresh farm and agricultural goods, produce, horticulture, baked goods and specialty food items, and prepared foods. As in past years, there are a limited number of non-profit booth spaces available every Thursday. These are available on a first come, first served basis. Vendor booth prices remain unchanged for the 2024 season. The deadline to apply is Jan. 17.

 “We’ll be kicking off the season with a live band and have DJs throughout the season. We’re ready with an Easter Egg Hunt, Plant Appreciation Day, Celebration for National Prayer Day, the 10th Annual Peanut Butter and Jelly Drive, and Blessing of the Animals and so much more,” said Michelle Ricketson, executive director, Hinesville Downtown Development Authority. “We’ll end our season with “Pink Out the Market” on Oct. 19 with a live performance from the Bucky & Barry Band.”
